Meet Jennifer - our Member Spotlight this Month, celebrating 1 Year on January 29!

She graciously opened up to share some of her story with us:

"Hi , I’m Jennifer from Pierce County.

Last year at this time I was at one of the very lowest points in my life.  Drinking to numb the pain I was experiencing as I was no longer working.

I spent 6 weeks in treatment in Southern California, where the nice weather in January allowed me to hike in the hills almost daily.  After returning home, I started looking for like-minded people to get outside with and eventually found my way to the Recovery Beyond website.

Since joining, I’ve done things I never dreamed I’d ever do, from going camping with 50 strangers BY MYSELF (hello, social anxiety!!) to signing up for, and actually completing, a 10k trail run/walk up Little Si.  

This month, on January 29th, I will celebrate one year of sobriety.  Recovery Beyond has been an integral part of that success.  This year  I look forward to new adventures, cultivating the strong bonds I’ve already forged with my RBP family members, and making new friends as a member of the Community and Culture Committee.
