Taylor is thankful to be substance-free for over 5 years after many challenges dealing with addiction and homelessness. Since 2019, he has volunteered in social work to support others and grow personally. Additionally, he worked for two years as a substance use counselor in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), where he learned about group sessions and aiding recovery. This taught him that recovery, like love, means different things to different people.
Ever since he joined Recovery Beyond in 2022, he discovered the joy of teamwork and staying active, especially through hiking. In 2023, he eagerly embraced indoor bouldering and boxing, enjoying the challenges and sense of community they bring. One of his most memorable achievements has been reaching the summit of Mount Adams in 2024 with the Recovery Beyond Mountaineering Team. He also had the privilege of climbing Mt. St. Helens and participating in a dog sledding event in Minnesota and is excited to help plan future Recovery Beyond activities.
He is currently studying behavioral science and working towards his bachelor's degree. He is also on track to become an SUDP (Substance Use Disorder Professional).
He is grateful for his journey and for Recovery Beyond helping shape him into who he is today. His goal is to be a positive force for good and support as many people as he can on their recovery path.
